Changing the WORLD as an ENTREPRENEUR.

What do Walt Disney, Bill Gates, Elon Musk, Steve Jobs, Henry Ford, Ray Kroc, Larry Page, Andrew Carnegie and Eli Whitney have in common?  They were all entrepreneurs who actually changed and shaped the world we live in today.

Entrepreneurs form a vital part in every country’s economy and its communities. One idea from an innovative person could launch a multi-million dollar company, employing thousands of people and shaping the lives of millions more around the globe. Another person could build a smaller business from the ground up, becoming a fixture within their neighbourhood and creating a handful of jobs for local residents. No matter the size or the scope of their businesses, entrepreneurs are the lifeblood of every country’s growth and success.

Changing the world, as an entrepreneur, or more of a social entrepreneur, takes innovation, inspiration, leadership, persistence, focus and, above all, an irrepressible passion for what you’re trying to do. In a world where environmental regulations are often pitted against business profits, imagine an economy where those two forces are working harmoniously. Social entrepreneurship offers that chance.

Bill Drayton, the father of social entrepreneurship defines the concept as “business with a cause.” So, while we’re out there chasing our fortunes and success, we can also be actively helping society and our environment.  We should have a practical but innovative stance to a social problem, often using market principles and forces coupled with dogged determination, that allows them to break away from constraints imposed by ideology or field of discipline, and push them to take risks that others wouldn't dare.

And if we can continue to push forward the dialogue of entrepreneurs helping solve are ecological and societal problems, there are bound to be countless brilliant ideas that will come about that will benefit everyone, not just the entrepreneur making the profit.

Amazing changes are possible when innovation and a passion for making a difference come together… And those changes could indeed change the world for a better tomorrow!
