Becoming a ‘Multipreneur’.

01-Nov-2019

Having just one small business for your income can be financially challenging. Especially in cases when you maintain a seasonal business or when your current business faces a temporary slump where the income becomes erratic. In such situations in order to stabilize your income flow, attract new customers and to be stronger competitor, becoming a ‘multipreneur’ can be a great idea.

So, what makes you think you’re well suited to become a ‘multipreneur’? Having the following three personality traits shows that you have got what it takes to be a ‘multipreneur’.

Ambition

Here it doesn’t refer the selfish kind, but rather the internal push to move them in the right direction. They don’t always require outside help and figures out the needed information on their own.

A wide area of interest

This is one of the most important characteristics. Here is where the difference between an entrepreneur and a ‘multipreneur’ begin to shape. ‘Multipreneurs’ may be termed ‘unfocused’ by many. But the truth is that they are actually pretty skilled in a variety of fields. So, if you think you’re not skilled enough in one area, it is never too late to start learning.

Perseverance

All ‘multipreneurs’ are ready to “take the plunge” again and again. They are ready to create new businesses one after the other. They keep the first business running while creating different ones. And even if couple of them turns out to be failures, they’re still keen to create new endeavours.

But keep in mind that you can be easily stressed due to the heavy load of work in ‘multipreneurship’ and thus may overdo things.  You might be tempted to drop projects that are unfinished, in favour of new ideas. Figure out how to discipline yourself to stay on track until things are completed.

All these might seem intimidating in the beginning and you might be worried about multiplying your responsibilities. But the truth is, with careful planning and management, you can be well prepared and thus having a better chance to succeed when you “take the plunge” … over and over again.
